A long lived, evergreen tree with attractive, silvery-grey foliage and a grey trunk witch becomes gnarled with age. Creamy-white small flowers produced during spring are followed by green fruit witch ripen to black through summer and autumn. The olive tree has been grown for centuries, not only for it fruit, oil and timber, but it ornamental foliage and trunk as well. It makes an ideal container specimen for courtyards.
